Languages: Spanish, English Slab Technique: It consists of spreading sheets of clay with a roller or tool and joining them to create structured shapes. It is used to make pieces with flat walls and geometric shapes, such as boxes or plates. Pinch technique: The clay is modelled with the fingers, pinching it to shape small pieces manually. It is ideal for initiation to ceramics, since it allows direct and intuitive control over the shape of the ceramics. Churro technique: Elongated clay cylinders are created that are stacked and joined together to form larger and more organic pieces. It is very versatile and allows you to make free shapes or large structures without the need for moulds. Engobes and enamels: Engobes are mixtures of liquid mud with pigments to decorate, and enamels create a vitrified layer after cooking. They are used to give colour, textures and resistant finishes to ceramic pieces . These sessions will be run by Gloria who has many years of experience working with ceramics and teaching with clay. She started her first apprenticeship in Ecuador and finished in Spain, studying at the well-known Francisco Alcantara School in Madrid.
