About Ganpala
Ganpala is a ceramics studio rooted in creativity, connection and the simple joy of making something with your hands.
Founded by ceramic artist Gloria, Ganpala grew from a deeply personal journey of rediscovery. During the pandemic, Gloria began building a small creative business from home. What started with textile and crochet projects eventually brought her back to ceramics, a craft she had trained in and worked with before moving to the UK.
Returning to clay became much more than a professional decision. It offered Gloria a way to reconnect with herself, challenge expectations and create a space that felt truly her own.
The name Ganpala is inspired by a mountain in Alausí, Ecuador, a place connected to Gloria’s mother and family history. It is also a tribute to her mother and to the landscape and elements that surround the ceramic process: earth, water, air and fire.
Today, Ganpala brings those ideas together through handmade ceramic pieces, classes and workshops. The studio is built around the belief that creativity can give us space to slow down, explore, learn and reconnect with ourselves, with other people and with the materials in front of us.
Ganpala’s pieces are designed to be functional, distinctive and full of personality, while its workshops invite people of different ages and experience levels to experiment with clay and enjoy the process of creating something of their own.
For Gloria, Ganpala is not only about making ceramics. It is about building a creative community and, over time, creating a welcoming space where ceramics, learning, conversation and connection can come together.
